Finally identified those brisbane river jew fish

There's been some debate over these small jew fish looking things we've been catching in the brisbane river. Some people reckon they're a putty nose perch but I think I have discovered their true identity. If you read the bottom paragraph of this scan you'll see that there's little doubt that this is what we've been catching.

If only they specified what length it grew to.

This would confirm it to be different from the Jew we all know already. Either way i dont worry to much about these things. Loads of species are called different things depending on where you from.

If you went around the world and ordered snapper in every continent, youd be eating a large variety of fish :P

I cant find this fish under any of its given names here in the Australian Museum Fish Id site. :( http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fishfacts/specfam.htm

Good research though mate as it looks the part.
