Still saving for my boat and deciding what to get, so in the mean time I've found an alright alternative to tie me over.

At the Marina at the end of Cabbage Tree Point Rd, you can hire a 14 foot boat with a 6hp ( no license needed ) for fishing for $70 for a half day( 7am - 12 )and $110 for a full day ( 7am - 4.30 ). Island seeker boat hire.

Its a pretty heavy poly plastic boat, so doesn't get much top speed, which is a little frustrating. But is still alot of fun. The boats can handle up to 6 people, but I wouldn't recommend more than three people fishing.

sounds like fun! a good way to figure out if you actually like boating too. Its not for everyone
