i gave Ross a call to see if he was keen at tackling the Noosa bass and jacks, well i didn’t need to ask him twice.

we left Logan at 3.30 and arrive in Noosa at 5.30, just after light. a quick shoot across the lake and up into the prehistoric creek.

We started trolling and it wasn’t long till we were onto our first fish, a nice little bass. We continued trolling and a few more fish came aboard. Ross landed a nice bass at 42cm, a p.b for him ( congrats ). After we got 5 bass, I took Ross for a tour to show him some parts of Noosa which most people will never see. He was over the moon. I could he the jack calling, so we moved on to our next spot.

We arrived to our spot and deployed the lures. 10mins into the first troll, bang, I was on, a quick fight and up comes a nice little red devil. A nice way to kick the season of... 30cm, back in the water he goes.

We continued to troll, and for the next 2 hrs was quite slow. I decided to throw lure at snags as we were trolling and on my 4th cast, bang, I was on, another nice tussle and up pops a very pale jack... 38cm...

Not a bad was to kick the jack season off

Its amazing how you can be trolling/casting one snag and be pulling bass off of it, and then go pull a jack from the next spot.
