Trailer mods.

Always thought my hydrofield was a tad heavy as the hilux doesnt like stopping with it behind it.

So went to the weighbridge today and 980kg was the result. So nearly 250kg over legal limit of trailer which is 750kg unbraked.

Will also have to go along to main roads and pay more brass on the trailer rego.

I have been toying with putting override brakes on it for a while and have accumulated a set of mechanical discs and hubs and a coupling.

Had a good look at the existing axle and springs and decided that as I was going to do some work i should replace the lot. The existing axle whilst sound is only 1000kg capacity and the springs whilst ok are very short and give a very hard ride.

So off to alko with the boat and trailer and got it measured up for a new duratorque torsion bar set up.

Getting it galvanised and marine seals to keep rust at bay.

Promised delivery within one month so I will just have time to fit it all before Awoonga.
