Best location in Aus for 1 day Fishing charter..THIS WEEKEND

Hi ALL,

I've on holidays as of today and want to get away this weekend 15th Feb and go on a one day Saltwater fishing charter. I'm after something that will put on a great fight but also be good to eat as I hope to take some of my catch home.

I'm in Brissie but can fly anywhere within Aus and have a budget of around $300 for the days fishing. The top end is looking very average weather wise and it appears quite a few charters close down for the wet season until March so that isn't looking the best.

I'd love some suggestions, personal experiences are always valued!

Hey Travis,

I would go to Arno Bay in South Australia. It produces probably the biggest snapper in Australia. Otherwise more locally a few great charters out of Rainbow Beach.

Hervey bay might be an option. Tuna mackeral and goldens ready to play. Might be a second person looking to join you to split costs.

This time of year is awesome off rainbow beach, this weekend the moon is pretty good too.

Ed Falconer on Keely Rose is your best bet out of Rainbow, always manages to put a few quality fish on the boat.

Its going to be hard finding good charter with 7 days notice.

All the bad weather around has pushed all booking foward.

Best charter in my books. Go with greg from double island point charters. Good bloke catch plenty of fish.

Snapper season down there at them moment but also year round.

Every trip I have been on we have caught stacks.

Manni went with him on the weekend and they cleaned up, heaps of big fish and 7 species to boot.

Hit him up for a referral if he is booked out, plenty of mackerel in the bay, the tuna are about including goldens, will make for a great day out, we got 10 different species that day

If you can't get a spot try smithy at smithy's fishing charters at mooloolaba. My mates dad caught 2 blacks and dropped a few wahoo on Sunday.
