Decided to go for a long walk this morning and do some bank casting again. Paid off as first cast found a small school of big fish, it was Lukes and my lucky day.

Managed a few over 50 and then I landed a nice 55, Luke was pleased for me but not as pleased as he was when half hour later he landed a 55 a new PB for him :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: After catching a swag of bass the school moved on out to deeper water.

I have seen people trying to land them on spaghetti rods and lose more than they catch.

I don't remember the last time I used a fibreglass rod was many years ago. The right gear for the right job makes it a pleasure to use.

There's still plenty of good fibreglass rods out there, but I use my lure rods for bait fishing as well.

For bank fishing out at north pine I use a 7ft pflueger president 6 to 12lb action medium with a stradic c14 2500 spooled with 10lb fireline. I usualy have 15lb line and leader.
