Hey,

Just wondering if there is any land based spots around the western suburbs area that are any good and what species are usually caught and best bait or lures to use

Thanks

Hey Oggy,

Just a few thoughts on the matter.

I know a lot of people that fish the skinny waters around the creeks for Bass and Spangled Perch. Brookfield creek etc.

Also there are some pontoons near the Indooroopilly golf course.

Colleges crossing is also fished.

Most waters will carry fish. There are sharks up that way but lots of catfish as well.

Night time is good but any time can work.

Bream still abound where you get structure.

Upper reaches of the brisbane has plenty of options. Places such as kookaburra park, the junction at karralee, mogill ferry. These areas are well known spots for big threadfin salmon and some ok bull sharks too. All of these spots can produce bream and flathead too all the way up towards colleges crossing. Plenty of the brackish species up that far especially in periods of extended drought.
