We have been doing well landbased at a number of spots the last week or so catching tailor landbased in Moreton Bay and the Broadwater. They are pretty widespread. There are no secret spots. Best effort was a fish of 56cm that Max caught last night. We always keep it simple. Monofilament line, Alvey reels  and pillies.

Just been alternating between around Victoria Pt and Runaway Bay depending on tides and wind.

Before that I was getting a few along the foreshore at Shorncliffe.

Nice! Bay and estuary tailor are so under rated hey. I've had some of my best tailor sessions at mud island and pine river. It doesn't have to be in the surf! Easier to specifically target in the surf I guess

There some solid tailor. Fished couple of sunrises few weeks back at shorncliffe and it was as if some1 flicked a switch when the first signs of daylight came they started smashing hardy heads on surface.

They are certainly  underrated in the bay and estuaries and you can generally get them on lighter gear which is good fun. I do like chasing them in the surf as well and will again this year when the formations are suitable.

Some nice fish there, Daryl.

We had a go on the weekend up the Sunny Coast at Kawana and Mudjimba for nil returns. Plenty of bait around.

Do you mind me asking whereabouts at VIccy Point, Darryl? My folks moved down a year or so but I haven't found anywhere land based that I really like yet.

Hi Thousandyards. The entire stretch of water around Victoria Pt and Pt Halloran fishes consistently well at night during winter. I have never found one spot fishes consistently better than another and tend to simply fish where there are not many people.
