Consolation prize.

I had a great plan to take my heavy rod and a couple of Jackall Doozer lures out chasing a big cod. 

Unfortunately there were no cod to be seen, I couldn't cast quite as far as I liked and the wind was pulling my line hard and my lure wasn't going where I wanted it too. 

So I switched to my light 3kg outfit and started launching some McGrath vibes way out, and I suddenly hit into a good run of yellow belly. 

I managed to land a 4.2kg,4kg,2.8kg and 1.8kg yella's before I decided enough was enough and headed home.

I was tempted to keep fishing, but unfortunately the wife told me I had to fix a blocked drain today, or else. 

But were going for a kayak down the river with some friends tomorrow, not really fishing so much as sight seeing, but I'm going to tow a lure and maybe flick a likely spot or too on the way. 

If nothing else I might find some new spots to fish.

I want a cod on that rod, I'd love something around the 80cm mark on gear like that, a 3kg finesse rod let's, you feel everything that's happening under the water.
