Rod recommendation for freams 4500j

Guys just wanted some input on which rod to match my freams 4500j. Will probably be loading it with 30lb spiderwire. Thanks!

What size fish are you targeting? 30lb spiderwire will do duty for everything from bass to barra! (ie 2-4 kilo to 5-10kilo sized rods)

It's more for a off-shore rig as the reel has 9kg of drag. However, have never been offshore so I'm not sure what I'll be targeting. Maybe GTs or huge fish up to 20kgs?

I would ditch the Spiderwire. Any fused line over about 14lb starts to get dodgie. It's stiff and is prone to slipping as it has a thick coat of colour and a smooth surface.

Try spectra, which is the true original woven braid. Tuff Line XP is good and not too expensive. I use it on my Stradic 4000 and have used it on a few other reels and it does to the job better then most others.

How much are you looking at spending? The 5-10kg T-Curve Saltwater Spin are a nice rod. They come with light and strong Fugi Sic Guides and the 7' length gives you greater distance if casting lures at surface working fish. It will also work a treat on deep water plastics for Pearlies, Snapper and the like. It's around the $350 mark.

Yeah, I've used 15lb and 20lb Tuff line and it's pretty nice stuff. Pretty soft and subtle for its weight class. But remember it breaks right on its rating so buy the strength you actually want.
