queensland Hinze 1/2/08

Went to Hinze western arm with John Ford this morning. Offered trip to Krisco but he wanted to sleep in and fish the salt.

I fished a mixture of poppers and spinner/chatter baits.

Nothing doing at all on the surface so concentrated on the spinners after 7am.

John was using poppers and hbs and gvibes.

I got a few hits but only managed to land one but we still enjoyed ourselves as the conditions were perfect on the water with just a slight breeze which allowed us ti drift the edges.

Lots of fish on sounder but no action.

We were the only ones there.

Went over 40 to fork didnt see anyone else on water.

Nice fish that ! Did he come home with you for dinner?

I got in trouble for not taking any home to my parents after the Toga Comp weekend, especially after they saw the photos of Kath's PB. Does the eating quality change with size like some other fish? Most of the ones I have taken for the table so far have been approx 35-40 cm.

Gave it to John. Eating quality seems to be the same no matter what size. If they are under 35 I dont bother as the fillets are too small.
