I'm gonna try training myself back to sx40's, they seem to have a stronger action than the 48s. Just need to remember to swap to the 4pd line to cast further.

hey jeryl, does the special design of the guides of this eging rod mean that knots should pass the guides effortlessly when using heavy leader?

if so, i'll have a look at the rod next time we fish.

What is different about the guides on an eging rod?

Better be quick kev, I have been considering this for a Snapper rod.....

if ur considering a new snapper rod, i can rest assure that the rod won't be gone

0.6-1.2 read closely but it isn't poundage it is a different type of measurement.

1.2 PE is like 15-20lb in some brands

the guides on the rod is not perpendicular to the blank, the angle's smaller like 30 degrees. so line won't get caught on the guides. imagine throwing a 4.0 jig hard and line get caught...lol, rod builders won't need to stript all the guides when fixing ur rod then.

yeah but the angle's only 30 instead of 70 in ur symbols.

line rating would be like 6-14lb.

if ur looking at jigging big sps or throwing slugs, get the rod!

Probably a bit to heavy for what I am after. Will see how the back pocket is after my latest splurge on the boat. If it is still for sale I may consider it.
