Hi guys,

New to fishing in general been in brisbane for a few years but really picking up on fishing. get out as much as i can ( but not enough)

normally head up to bribie and happy with anything i can catch at the moment.. Got a houseboat trip booked this weekend at goldy... Any tips appreciated

Welcome abaord mate. "Tips" are hard things to give as there are so many of them. Maybe somethng more specific??

im pretty novice so really anything - i.e lures suitable... what i can catch?? Anything really!

my tip is to put prawn on a 1/0 hook and a small sinker(must make it to the bottom) on some 6-8lb line and a light rod(kmart cheapy) and drop it anywere along sth straddie pretty close to the bank! if ya dont get anything just move 50 mtrs and try again!

if ya do that for a day or two you are almoast garenteed to get a bream or a flathead ect

you will get the method after a while!

As Ian said just drown a prawn. Should pickup Bream Whiting flathead pretty easily anywhere in the broadwater. Also do this on the drift. When underway it is worth while trolling some sort of hard body, just in case.

there are a few tailor about at the moment method so some pilchards on gang hooks under a float could get you a feed

biggest tip for a houseboating weekend is take two eskies... one for beer, one for spirits. :laugh:

Take plenty of bait.

If it's one that comes with a little tinny so you can get to little islands easily, take a yabby pump if you have one.
