Rosscoe and I ventured down to tweed river looking for some new ground to try.

The bar crossing was a none event with the great weather it was an easy exit :)

We turned south toward our planned destination Cook island

our first drift was fairly fast so I opted for bigger lead to hold bottom next thing BZZZZZZ bang nothing

 what ever it was chewed through my 20lb leader

So thats how you want to play hey well try this you rotten fish on went a 100lb wire trace within minutes the whole Pilly I had on an 8/0 hook got smashed :woohoo: I was on big time after a bit of a battle yahoo :woohoo:

Then Ross was on but this one only went 34 ( thinking 35 was the limit back it went

then DOH whats the limit in NSW umm 30  oh well

Then we got paid a visit from a very friendl fisheries officer ( we both had lic's)

After several more drifts nothin :(

So we headed back in to fish the river caught a few small bream but nothing worth while

I had a water dragon try to attack my bait :woohoo: if you look close these one on the base of the pylon on the right and one on top of the pontoon

after that we packed up and headed home

Thanks all Don't think I'd fish the protected zone there's some huge breaking waves in there We were fishing in about 70 feet of water ;) \

theres some really good bommies to the east side well outside of the no go zone

I think early morning rising tide or late afternoon that place would rock
