Do spinners work for saltwater fish?

Hey guys/gals. I will say up front that I know next to nothing about spinners - in fact the first time I really had a look at one was at the boat show last weekend.

We spoke to the guy that is sponsored by Anaconda and he showed us what they were all about, and that the whole lure doesn't spin (as I thought it did).

Anyhow after he explained how they worked I have been wondering if they can be use to target bream. Worked around some decent structure I don't see the reason that they shouldn't work, or am I REALLY showing my ignorance?

u talkin bout trout spinners or spinnerbaits?...i have caught some flattys and moses perch on spinnerbaits

Whats the diff? I was referring to the spinners that have two "arms" - one with the spoons that spin as you retrieve, and the other with the "lure" that has the hooks.

i caught my pb flattie on a spinnerbait

but anything that goes near flatties they will eat

They don't work as well, but Flatties will take them no doubt:)

But a Bream, hmmmm, they're are probably a bit big and too flashy? (can't think of a better word...) Bream lures usually are more subtle and small.

flatties will go a spinnerbait no worries and blade spinners

i've seen japanese targeting flattie with spinnerbait.

most of the regulars at colleges crossing wont use anything but spinnerbaits for flatties.

they do pretty well too

just about chuck anything in front of a flattie and it will go it:)

Guys ill be trying some spinner baits in the harbour at Hamilton over the weekend for trevs, wish me luck!
