Where to find Yakkas on the Goldie??

A mate and I are planning a fishing trip soon and want to get some yakkas for bait - Can someone help with a location to find some on the Gold Coast somewhere

Next sunday down off Jacobs Well.... Oh you mean yakkas as in bait and not yakkers ;-)

well mate if you have a good sounder well you can drop a jig down over any bait balls as you fish at the same time. This time of year you will most likely get yakkers at your points.

Yakka's are generally found in the ocean, and are hard to get landbased. You'd be better off trying to get some mullet or herring in a cast net

always a school of Herring off the end of the Boat Ramp Pontoon at the Grand Boat Ramp

Mullet, best place by far is on your way to the Coast. The Cain Drains on the way to Jacobs Well hold truck loads of Mullet

You cross many water ways on the road leading to Jacobs Well, just pull up and have a look

only spots i know of that you sometimes get yakkas land based is the sand pumping jetty at the spit or fingal head
