After reading Dino's report from this morning I hit McGavins this afternoon.

With a storm on the horizon and calm conditions it all looked good, but the fish were few and far between.

Started with spinnerbaits at 4.30 and couldn't get a touch, changed to 20g slugs at 5.00pm and first cast out deep hooked a small one that spat the lure half way in.

Next cast another hit, this time it stayed solid, and I was off the mark with a 30cm bass.

Hopeful of getting a good run from the school I cast and cast, but no more bites.

Switched to a Vibe for no love and right on dusk saw a bit of surface action. Changed to a Storm popper and as my first cast hit the water, the surface erupted. A heap of water flew everywhere, but alas the trebles didn't stick and I was left excited but empty handed. I peppered the area hoping for another shot, but it was not to be.

Darkness fell all too quickly leaving me stuck with a one from three average for the session.

Thanks for reading.
