Lake Kurwongbah to be stocked with bass

Whilst at the lions fishing comp at Lake Kurwongbah I ran into a couple of guys from the Pine Rivers Fish Stocking Assn. They are in the final stages of preparing a submission to stock Kurwongbah with bass. The council and DPI are backing the submission.

If it goes ahead it will be run on the same lines as the permit system on Lake Sampsonvale. ( north pine dam )

Elect only and yearly permit.

It will be run by a seperate body as the North Pine Assns charter prohibits it from starting any new ventures.

They will eventually have their own leasehold lake frontage with a ramp with a locked gate on it with access only to members for boating access.

They could not give me any estimate of a timetable but it would be good to get in and have a go at the tilapia whilr the bass grow.

lets all keep our fingers crossed. I will try to keep up to date with events and keep everyone posted.
