now i know how to rig live fish as bait and how u have to be above the lateral line to make it live longer but what about squid how do u rigg them to keep them alive just curious.brad

hmm, i dont think i could ever forgive myself if i caught live squid and threw it back out there for the fishes... <3 fresh squid on the bbq

Live squid just put the hook through the tail (opposite end to the head) and it will swim for ages.

a good way is to use a 2 hook rig, hook the top one where anguses pic is there and have the second swinging free down near the head

ive found alot of fish attack the head/tentacles area first

of course this applies if you have a decent size squid, if you have small ones 1 hook shoudl do you fine

I'm pretty sure I've seen two hook rigs with the 1st hook where Angus's is, and the second pinned in the tube near the head, pretty much where the camera flash on that picture is. Havn't used it, but I think I've seen it done like that.

hahaha never mind the paint skills, I thought the awesome reminder that the tail is the opposite end to the head was worth it's weight!

great live bait though and i've had them come back to the surface with just a hook in them with no sinker and bob up and down changing colours with something looking at him then smashed 30 seconds later
