G’day guys - Quick report from State of Origin on the weekend

Grant H and I arrived at Brunswick Heads late Thursday night.

After a lazy morning and 8am registration we hit the water mid morning on Friday, itching for some bream. The water wasn’t as clear as the last few times I had been there due to the rain pushing the fresh water out. This really showed on the fish front with a slow start being reported by most people I spoke to on day one.

The first fish of the day was a large bream who took a liking to my Damiki Armour Shad.

It came from an oyster lease on the run out tide, in very shallow water.

He went on to take out 3rd place in the Bream section.

Also a new PB :silly:

The day was progressing rather slowly with a few more small flathead landed by drifting the banks of the river. After a quick chat to Sweresy, who gave us some Jewie advice, we headed up river with a change of target species.

Sweresy’s advice came up trumps with me landing my first Jewfish.
