ok.. after losing a metre+ threadie 2 days ago, i wandered down to the river for a short session while the home minister wasnt in today :P :P :P.

Chucked out my rig, caught a few catties and a er.. juvenile jew? before changing rigs to drift a prawn out. had a take within 5 minutes, not as big as i'd have preferred, but interesting nonetheless on ultra-light(2-6lb) gear.. didnt measure it accurately, but i daresay 60-70cm minimum?

seems like there're alot of threadies moving about in the river now. Wish i'd have gotten a bigger one tho- the one that busted me off 2 days ago was double the size of this one.

Looks like a common freshwater shrimp to me. Did you get it in the lower reaches of the river ?

Sounds like an entertaining trip:)

I take it the shark just ran with your rod whilst you werent holding it? If not than you better know how to swim :woohoo:
