Squid Tentacles

I'm a bit confused now, is the tube the head, or what?

Nope the tube is the body.

The head and tenticles are sort of one part, the tube the other.

D'oh! Blonde moment, sorry!

Asked the same Q on my UK Mopar board, here's the reply;

"Olive oil lime handfull of brown sugar and a flat plate barbeque on very hot

1-2 minute let the lime/sugar blacken but not turn ya tenticles to rubber

smashin

listen to the baby octo's whistle

scoff the lot

feel a bit off colour (over indulgence is necessary for this)

drink more beer

smashin

Dave

PS also works with squid.

other fun you can have

metal bucket of muscles + sea water

stand on flat plate till it boils

tip out bucket onto barby, re light if it puts out the gas, watch it doesn'nt over flow the drip tray

and slam down lid to steam till dry

take off lid

Knob of butter

salt pepper

scoff the lot (well the ones that open anyway, any that stay closed throw at yer mates)

feel a bit off colour

drink more beer

smashin

Dave"

Sweet, now i just need to get out there and land me some? Can anybody suggest a place that a budding squid hunter might try his hand? I have a Canoe but don't really know where to start looking for spots. Any keen land based fishos want company on their next outing? Also, are they be bst targeted at dawn/dusk or in full light... some people have told me night time is good but all i really know is they love clean water.

Any of the rocky foreshores like, Shorncliffe, Redcliffe, Viccy Point, Wello Point and Manly, hold squid during the winter. Just look for weed, or rubble and bait fish.

You can get them any time of the day or night, but I find night a little better myself, mainly cause I am stuck at work for 50 - 60 hours a week.
