Little Nerang Dam

Does anyone know anything about the little Nerang Dam? It is above the Hinze dam, about 45 hectares in size when full.

Was just looking up the Hinze dam on the Gold Coast Council web site when I came across it.

looks and sounds fishy to me!

Anyone know if it is stocked, or if fishing is permitted there, and what form (IE boats or land based only) [img size=198]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/LittleNerangDam.jpg

\"Little Nerang Dam has also been fishing well from the points for bass, though most are a bit smaller than their relos over at Hinze.\"

Quote from Queensland Fishing Monthly...

That would indicate you can fish there, but maybe that has changed? Ray would be in the know but I just found that while looking up pictures.

Hi Jeff and all,

Below the dam wall is a body of water about 40m X 70m leading into a creek system, shallow mostly. Looks EXTREMLY good to fish. I have spotted the usual suspects, turtles and eels, so we could presume that other finned natives are also present. However, I have been there a few times taking the dog for a walk and have never see anyone do anyting but swim worms. Please note that there is stictly no fishing below the dam wall also and fines do apply.

Welcome to the Gold Coast, home of no fish, no fishing and fines for fishing apparently.

Cheers

Andrew
