2012 The Year That Was

ONTHECHEW

Recommended Posts

Guys with the weather not playing the game and reports on the slow side thought it was time we could start up the highlights of 2012. Photos of PB's, special catches, special trips (socials etc) or just a really good photo you are proud of, even just a written high light of the one that got away.

First (proper) GT up North.

Hooking a marlin off the gold coast.

First Coomera River jack - was just a baby, but something I'd been trying to do for a long time.

Tailor on 4lb in the surf.

Hand feeding massive GT at Lizard Island

Finally making my way to some AFO events and meeting heaps of cool dudes.

Hmm let's see, nothing spectacular but I did manage to knock off a few pbs or new species. In no particular order- 1st Murray Cod (thanks WayneD), first Giant Herring, pb lure caught bream, pb tarpon, pb lure caught Flathead but didn't get a measure :( plus a couple of others I'm sure. From now into 2013 I'll be trying for a toga, mrc, pb jack and pb murray cod.

January 1994 to March 2012 was a period of not being able to get out fishing and not a good period of my life

In April 2012 I bought a new boat and that has all changed.

I now think of nothing else but fishing and when can i get the boat out next.

Haven't caught too much in the way of quality fish as yet but after nearly 20 years it's like learning to fish all over again, and so much fun in the learning.

For me 2012 is the best year in a long while, and now the fun begins

My Pride and Joy - photo taken the day i picked it up :):):):):):):P

hmm... this year has definitely seen a quiet front fishing for me.

Giant trips in Darwin, Mackay and off Lizard dominate my mind, however I'm sure there were others. I'll add them as I find them from my folders.

Here's my pride and joy.. until I better it.

GT off Lizard/Howick Island.
