trouble with these hooks is they will last forever i file down the barbs and create rust spots on my large shark hooks as i often have to cut and set free and i dont want the sharks carrying a hook for life

I fish land based so we almost always have the opportunity to remove the hooks. A nice long custom hook remover does the job no problem. I have seen one shark caught with a hook still in it's mouth and heard that it is pretty common too, so it obviously doesn't affect them too much. Either way I'd still like to get my expensive hook back as well as remove it from the shark.

He did say that he has stainless 20/0's but I'm getting him to see if he can get hold of bigger sizes too. Will update.
