Gary Howard Vs Snyder Glas

Looking to buy a quality 1 piece 9ft estuary rod I've heard good things about Gary Howard rods such as them being very long lasting and very well built rods however I know that Snyder glas rods have been around a long time and have build up a good reputation as quality rods . Has anyone used one or both of them and could tell me which is better , I know a lot of anglers have their own preference on one or the other but I just want a good quality rod that will last a long time and can withstand all the sand, mud, dirt, fish guts and saltwater that it may and probably will come into contact with

Thanks Sam

I have got a couple of Snyder Glass surf rods that have lasted without any problems for at least 10 years. They probably only get used a couple of times a year these days but the quality is good. Also had a 9 foot bream rod that I have misplaced somehow but it was a great rod for bait fishing for bream.

Not sure where they are made these days, but I guess same applies to most rods now. Pretty sure you would be happy with either brand.

Sam both rods are terrific, i use the Snyder 9 foot Contessa an we sell the 9 foot Gary Howard where i work and i have picked it up many times and thought what a nice rod it was.

You don't say what species you want to use it for, if you're after a specialist whiting rod i would go with the Gary Howard, if you want one for bream and whiting i would go for the Contessa "Light", cheers wayne
