Some on here may remember around 2010 whilst Barra fishing at Lake Monduran, I got a monster birdsnest on my baitcaster.

I said at the time that "I wasn't going to let a piece of string beat me" !

I have intermittently tried to detangle the b$^&tard of a thing without succes.

Well, today it won. I have thrown it out.

Good riddance.

It didn't help that one of my 'mates' put another piece of string in it so it had 3 ends.

Hey Ellicat, I remember that trip. Glenda & I caught some good fish that trip.

Here's my 'barra' from that trip. @rayke1938 took us on a no-fail troll in his rig. I didn't even hook that one. Kriso hooked it and handed me the rod as he'd just caught one.

And I always thought if you stopped using lures the catties would bugger off... guess I was wrong.

That looks like a good barra lure, especially with the green (I have always heard green lures are the best for barra, but I've had no experience except the time I flicked a big green hardbody in a freshwater canal at Rockhampton, mainly fearing crocs though..) 

Shame you didn't get any at all, my dad once fished with his mate on a dam on his mates boat, his mate got one and ate it but he never did.

My experience shows that green lures are good for catfish.  Haha

Haha, I think I might try a green lure at the local park to see if I can prove that theory right.  

I think he knows the feeling of not catching fish better very well, once when he was on a charter everyone caught a fish except him, but when he saw colour of his fish (a big Cobia) it got off. I think he's satisfied though because now when he comes fishing he at least gets to reel in what he hooks... LOL (I used to nick whatever he hooked to land )

Yes, that was that year. I think I'd just cracked a joke, but don't know who took the pic. Maybe it was you ??

Funny thing is I nearly need a wig these days.
