Rainbow Beach campsite.

Can anybody recommend a campsite around Rainbow beach area, for a few days over the xmas holiday.

I have a dog so they must be allowed.

BCF shopping at the weekend.

Is it worth taking my tinnie,will it be safe.

i stayed at carlo a few years back which is on tin can bay just out of town from rainbow...great campsites...fires allowed..and dogs from memory but i would check beforehand..ramp close by also..

If you want to take your tinny you should go to inskip (dogs ok) you can launch into a little lagoon on the left ,right at the end of the black top, if you camp in the area on the left you can leave the boat in the water right at camp 4x4 would be best, dont know about 2wd access as hav'nt had one for 20 odd years.

Dont know for sure if you google it you will find info also google earth will show the little lagoon clearly and the camp area a must do is a few cold beers at the rainbow pub with a bowl of chilli wedges and check out the pics of the trashed 4bs on the rocks:laugh:

ive seen that little area near that lagoon with tents floating around in it..hahaha... make sure you have an inflatable bed just to be on the safe side...hehehe

there are hot showers available at the laundromat just as you drive into town on the left worth 20 times the price after 3 days in a swag on the beach just to have a clean drive home was great :laugh:

Mate that area is packed at Christmas, last year there was a lot of whinging because the rangers finally started enforcing limits on the number of campers.
