Broadwater squid

A few squid today on the high tide.

Only my third time chasing them properly and finally got a few. Lost 2 other big ones. 

Nice day and plenty of boats chasing them.

Any chilli squid recipes?

Nicely done. I'm hopeless at it. One day I managed 2 whilst drifting but have never caught another one.

Nice work, @Leeroy.  Depending how hot you like it, try adding 1 or 2 teaspoons of dried chilli to a cup of cornflower with similar amount of salt and ground pepper. Do the squid in rings and drop them into egg wash followed by the flour mix. Cook them quickly in hot vegetable oil (no more than 15 seconds) then serve with whatever you like, or nothing.

Im happy to show you some techniques and what not for squidding one day. Might need to be land based, we can hit up Shorncliffe, woody point etc

Might have to be from my boat. I don't do well at walking these days.

I know some spots where they are supposed to be. haha

I actually hooked up to a few on a half pillie while fishing the other day at the Port. I got a couple close to the boat but they let go.  @Old Scaley threw a jig at them, but no joy.

I've been thinking as the water in the river gets clearer I should start throwing a jig around. I've caught small ones in the cast net before so no reason a big one won't be around I guess.
