$77 Digital Camera at JB (6 MP)

Hey chaps, if you are chasing after a cheap digtal camera, JB have a 6 MP Samsung for $77. Not a bad price. I just ordered one (the Ipswich store was out of stock) to replace my fishing camera that had an accident:silly:

that'd be good for taking fishing cause you wouldn't be too stressed about killing it in the water or sand.

What's the quality of the camera like?

Megapixels aren't everything. (Just like Megahertz aren't everything in CPUs - despite what Intel spoon fed everyone for many years)

Oh I'm aware that you get what you pay for Terry! The sensor wasn't the sale-maker it was the price. For a fishing camera, pretty much anything IQ wise would be sufficent.

BTW my non-fishing camera is a Canon A720 IS, which I payed $340 (or so) a few months back. I had been trawling the reviews and forums on www.dpreview.com and it met my needs. It's got 8 MP, optical image stabilization and a lot of manual controls. It actually reviews very well against cameras in the $600-$700 price range in the IQ department. I am VERY happy with it for the price, although it obviously isn't a match for the higher end prosumer cams and DSLRs

Might have to take a look at that. I have been taking my DSLR but a wave over the back while sitting on the beach has me thinking twice about wether or not that is a good idea.

Yeah if you go to the Ipswich store, there are clean out but will order in. I think the guy said indroo and carindale have them in stock. It might pay to give them a call first to double check if you want to pick it up on the spot.

yep, you mainly pay for the lens and the internal processing with good cameras. You can have perfect eye site but if you're wearing foggy glasses you won't see much.
