Esky build???

This may be a dumb question, but is it possible (or at least, possibly simple) to build a custom esky?

Does anyone have any tips or have any suggestions of where is can purchase the materials?

G'day Nasty. I was looking at eski's in the latest QFM, theres some really good buys at the moment. I thnk from memory there was a 90ltr for $145. Dont quote me on that. But if your interested I'll scan the add for you?

I already have a 200l but i was going to build a bench seat behind my console that doubled as an esky.

Its fairly easy to do. Build the outer shell from ply, line the inside with isothane foam, lay some fibreglass over it and coat it in flocoat. You can finish the outside however you like. I am in the process of doing it in the rear livewell of my tinny. Keep an eye on the thread on here over the next week or so.

If your keen you can build your own I got some foam filled panels I got from work your welcome to have

they are about 7ft x 3ft maybe 4 ft

Building an esky is pretty straight forward and I have built several out of cold room panel 'offcuts' and aluminium angle. They are great for camping or out the back BBQ etc, but the sharp corners and edges make them a little risky in boats.

On the above post about TechniIce ones.
