G'day to everyone and i hope your fishing has been good lately, i grew up on the Darling Downs catching freshwater fish like Yellowbelly, Silver Perch and Murray Cod. However i do like to chase saltwater species like Bream, Flathead and the great Threadfin Salmon, i did not know they existed in the Brisbane River until i read a story in the forums about threadfins being caught in and also well up the Brisbane River,i always thought they were a northern species..amazing.

Anyway i'm keen to get amongst some threadfins when they are biting of course and also find some locations where i can chase my old freshwater favourites..ha ha ha.

welcome to the site mate, good luck with the threadies! some good spots to start looking are bretts wharf, newstead, west end and dutton park. fish livies on or near the bottom, dusk is the gun time.
