compulsory fishing restocking fees

I find that very interesting. As the vast majority of registered boats never see a lick of fresh water, I wander what they have been spending this restocking fee on?:pinch:

I am all for paying it, but I suspect we are not getting a brass razoo of return out of it. The amount of registered boats in Queensland would have to be in the hundreds of thousands, meaning they are collecting millions in funds for restocking. We should not be able to bait up in the open on the bay for fear all those all the stocked fish will leap in to the boat!

I am going to find out how many boats are registered in Queensland, do the maths, and ask Peter Beattie where the millions are being spent. (If he says it all goes into stocking fresh water Dams I'll shut up,and leave the arguement for you salt water fisho's to take up, but I dont think so!).:dry:
