Was at Pet City this week and saw these on sale for the first time.

Freshwater stingrays. Said to be from the Amazon.

$1100.00 each or a pair for $2100.00

Talking to one of the chaps there today; said there are 4 types that he knows of in the Australian market. He has seen them go for $30,000.

These ones were/are about 6" x 8" long excluding the tail (complete with barb)

He said they grow to 50cm across the pharlaps. EDIT - reading suggests they grow to 100cm across and 15 KG. That'd be a tank with a fair footprint. :woohoo:

Our normal rays are about 15kg closer to 75cm.

Nice bait though.. bit expensive!
