Well no need to worry about green zones on the Murray Darling system in South Australia. They have closed the entire Murray System for 12 months.

Doubt there will be much chance of getting it reopened at the end of the 12 months. They have only just come out of an extended closure period.

I saw a article elsewhere that someone was calling for the establishment of green zones in the Murray/Darling catchment of NSW but cant find it again.

This will include an investigation into the feasibility of a stock enhancement program for Murray Cod in South Australian areas of the River Murray.

Bloody idots, as Eli would say, there would be no fish with the stocking associations.

Stock the river and stop spending money thinking about it.

It is just a closure of the SA fishery though isn't it??

A bit disappointing that now when they realise that they really need to do something to fix the murray cod stocks, the first thing they do (as always) is target the recreational fisheries.

An yeah... i wonder why they've never been fans of stocking?
