Constructive critism please!

Alright I have made my first few sets of sharking traces, I'll bung up some pics and explanations, and you all can tell me what I did wrong and how I wont catch anything on them! :P

Ok first pic, because I was using bl@@dy tough stainless 7 strand and multistrand wire, (215kilo 1.5mm stuff) it was hard to cut, so to cover up any chance of stray fibres sticking out of the end of the sleeves, and to ensure the hooks did not catch, I vulcanised the sleeves with self vulcanising tape. Picture shows steps from bare sleeve to covered sleeve. [img size=270]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/vulcanising_sleeve.jpg

OK the babies of my setups.

8/0 hooks, bottom Mustad 8/0 live bait, top Mustad 8/0 hoodlum. (I had a pack of each, so thought I'd mix em up, hardly any difference to the eye, the live bait is slightly more \"circle hook\" like).

25kilo nylon coated wire (which I will change to 50 kilo when I get to the tackle shop next!)

50kilo swivel

These will by my little bully rigs, 2 to 3 footers. [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/Mustad_hood_bottom_live_bait_top_8_0__s_25kilo_nylon_coated_wire_50_kilo_swivel.jpg

And this is my \"gotta beat Terry rig\" (as if)

12/0 gamakatsu hooks on 215kilo multistrand stainless wire also 2.0mm sleeves. 100 kilo swivel.

I have some dipping plastic to coat the stainless with, but I am inclined not to. (called laziness!)

All the traces are an armspan long, so about 6 foot.

those look like good traces, and a very similar hook set up to what i've been using (although I've just been using hooks for ganging and crimping them onto pre-made traces). I would like to know how you go with the free moving lip hook, as I've found sometimes with larger bait it can move around a bit too much and tangle them up in the trace.

either way, hope you catch somethin :D

I only lip hook fairly small fish, otherwise both hooks through the back. Ray has a new trick that seems to work well, your trim the bottom half of the livies tail fin off, and when it swims it goes down, works well, keeps them down!
