Surface poppers for Tailor?

G'day all, I'm heading over to straddie next week and after having some success with bass & surface poppers , I'm keen to try a few topwater lures.

I've seen a few locals using large silver spoons and fast retrieve with some success, but never true surface poppers.

Will be fishing around deadmans/flinders beach area, can anyone recommend a good lure/color and technique for this?

cheers

Silver spoons, slugs anything like that will work...

As for technique through them out wind them in....;)

As for poppers tailor aint to fussy and will eat just about anything thats moving, but I would try popper colours in red or silver.

Yeah poppers are awesome fun in the surf & off the stones, there isnt too much that wont scoff down a popper when its feeding time.

Silver metal is great but dont forget gold or red & white can be deadly on predatory fish as well depending on light conditions.

Basic rule of thumb with any lure is vary the retrieve style or action, depth & speed until you either gets hits or hook up.

Cheers

James
