Enoggera Reservoir

Hey,

I know you cant fish in Enoggera Reservoir (The dam at the end of the gap) but i was wondering if anyone knew what sort of fish were in there and wether there would be any point targeting the creek that runs off it at all?

Its really close to me and i have always wondered if there was anything more than catfish,turtles and eels in there.

Any info would be much appreciated

Seeing how tilapia are everywhere at the moment

i assume that Enoggera Creek is the creek running off it. The creek itself has Tilapia and goldfish in it. along with the occasional spangled perch and tandanus

what are spangled perch like to fish for?

they are aggressive but do not get a lot of size. they will hit lures pretty aggressively and sometimes larger themselves. most are caught generally on garden worms however

Reputed to have been stocked with bass, goldens and silvers years ago.

May not be too many left in there given the overflows.

Shouldn't be any tilapias in there(?).

Fished it all the time as a kid and never got more than Eels, Eel-tail Catties and turtles and not even any spanglies. I did get two rather large Goldfish at about 36cms once. I saw an enormous eel-tail cattie along the Marist flats there once but try as I might I just couldn't get it to eat a bait. It was nesting at the time. I think there is a weir further down that restricts movement up stream. ER hasn't been officially stocked at all to my knowledge.
