rod and reel care

Hi guys just wondering what everyone does to care for their rods and reels. eg. cleaning, servicing, storage how often would you do a thougha clean and do you wash off after use if so what with?

Well, what I do when I get home from an outting is first take the spool from the reel and give the spool a few dunks in sum freshwater just to remove and salt residue and give the rod/reel(not the spool) a good wash with soapy water.

After the wash I pat dry and spray them down(not the spool) with WD-40 or somethink alike and wipe of any excess then pop the spool back on and store the rods/reels out of the weather somewhere safe so they dont get damaged or broken....

I put it in the shower and blast the rods to get rid of salt, and then on a very low pressure, I wash the reels all over for 45 secs-1 minute. Then I put it on the rod rack in my room.

I do the same as cowfish and a major service every 6 months
