They're awesome eating. In the same class as Coral Trout, Sweetlip and Nannygai. They have to be 30cm to take home though.

dont forget there are variations of tusk fish, there all OK, some are better.

Well my mum ended up eating it as I went out behind Green Island on Monday night. She said it was a bit bland, the only thing that gave it flavour was the seasoning. Chubbstar i was in 4.2m stessco with the gf and my mum i was wearing a white hat. about 40m from the beacon all day till we left at about 4.

Jimmybob one was 33cm and the other was 37cm god they were slippery little suckers when cleaning. I had one on that busted me of, biggest fish i have ever hooked up it was well and truely bigger than the squire and that was 46cm i got it right near the boat than it ran big time and busted of my hook on a 30lb leader.
