queensland Kookaburra Park - 25/06/07

[Bullrout]

Wasn't going to go out today, bad tides, but my mate and his missus come around and convinced me (they had rum) we headed out, i went to a secret low tide beach, and we pounded the beach with soft plastics... ended up with 9 bream, 5 which were legal, 2 we kept at 35cm (biggest i've seen) and 30cm... 1 fork tailed catty and 1 run from the unknown that ended with a unsatisfying pop as the 4kg line busted!! all fish were caught on prawnstars... i found them o be a killer on the sand flats here... we fished the rising tide from dead low until the beach was copletely flooded...

Had a few casts of the net, one cast resulted in a 35, 41 and 50cm mullet! Had a great time pulling the ol net back in! Bait fo later in the week!

Anyway today i thought was gonna be a ud, turned out to be blast after all!! Good tides for the rest of the week, Missus wants my company tomoro but ill be backwednesday!

Why do they never have those at the fish places when I look for bait?

Well done Bullrout, You have done better than the last couple of days.

I had 2 livies out all day without a touch.

Terry, we also got some good sized mullet in the net on sunday.

if you have a car and are chasing big shark baits try raptis fish markets they seem to be a bit more reliable for large fresh not yuk frozen mulet plenty other bait to or betteruck with a cast net

I think it is 64cm and 4.5kg. But that may be the Australian Record, not the World Record.

yeah it fought really hard... wasnt quite sure what it was for a while, only regret i have is my mate caught it not me!
