Met Lindsay at the Wello ramp with plans to go chase reefies outside. We headed through the bar (or what ther was of it)

and swung right towards Shag Rock and sounded some fish. Slow drifts and light wind made it easy to get my Soft plastics down. Fish started busting up around us and we got some fresh bait for Lindsay

The fish were not interested in any of Lindsays stinky bait or any way he offered it, but I got onto a few Spangled Emperor and they really gave me curry on my 10lb gear, tempted by a white Damiki Armorshad

Then there was a fight I couldn't reallly pick and managed to wrestle this bad boy off the bottom, luck was definitely on my side, also tamed on the 10lb gear, also caught on an Armorshad, but Moebi colour this time.

Having nearly filled the esky on my own, the sledging of Linsday and his stinky bait was relentless and he managed to get onto a fish

We tried anchoring at Boat Rock but couldn't raise a scale so went back to drifting and pulled a few more. We drifted off structure and the sounder was showing some barren grounds and on the fast retrieve got smacked hard and got spooled to the backing. Lindsay chased it for nearly a mile and I started getting some line back

After half an hour of hanging off the back of the boat trying not to get busted offon the prop I managed to get this bad boy also on a white armorshad

Heres the transport for the day, not a kayak, but adequate

Crumbed emperor and chips with coleslaw for dinner and some cod fillets for later in the week. I even gave Lindsay all the tuna and smaller spanglies. Not his fault he persists in using bait.

Mark, quite a few fish came from drifting past the rock, and the biggest of all species caught came from Middle Reef.

Didn't realise cod was FOTM, might have to take a brag mat shot and submit it!
