I have fished that ledge many many times but all I have ever caught was catfish, stingrays, squire and bream. :pinch:

Looking on ausfish yesterday whilst the site was down and there is a post on a fishkill up near the moggil and large dead threadies reported so definatly looks like a all year proposition.

They also target them during winter in the Hervey Bay area according ti Fishtales.

 :woohoo: Nice fish mate.

Cmon give us some details, Good fight? etc etc

not a bad fight but the 8kg gear was way heavier than needed.

these things fight clean, it just ran like buggery for deeper water. i cranked it back pretty easy, then it exploded when it saw the boat and took off toward the pipeline so i thumbed the spool and turned it back toward open water and pumped it back to the boat.

thats when i discovered that my landing net was missing and had to land it with my little hand gaff.

one shot

straight in the gills;)

i still got it:P
