Polishing advice

Hi all

I'm about 1/2 through my polishing project on my boat. Shame the rain has set, otherwise it would be getting finished this weekend

Anyhow, I've removed the old rego stickers from the outer hull, and have been trying to remove the stains/marks that have been left on the boat. Unfortunately I can't get the marks ut using the septone rubbing compound.

So my question is, is it possible to use wet and dry on the hull without destroying it?

Below is an image of the marks left from the stickers. You can clearly see the yellow outlines from the rego letters and numbers.

Can't see why not, a fine enough wet and dry should leave it perfect for polishing.

try jiff or tooth past thay are cutting componds dont use wet & dry the jiff is very fine and wount sratch it

acid wasah it first. wet boat down. Apply acid with a broom. let stand for 10 minutes wash off

then use macguirs products to polish and remove any further oxidation

It's a pretty old product, but Gumption works a treat on stuff like that as its a very mild cream cutting compound.

use 1000 grade wet and dry (or finer) with plenty of any ordinary soap, then buff polish.

I will third the gumption. I have spent the whole weekend polishing my boat as well. The good old gumption removed rust stains and all. 6 meters of boat is a lot of polishing got a third of the boat left to go.
