Brisbane River Thready's

Headed out by myself on Friday to chase a thready as i have never caught one before but been a few times and had a crack.

Went to a few different spots for the day and got one in the first spot i tried then tried another spot and got another two.

The 2 smaller ones were kept in the water to stop them stressing out and seemed to release fine.

Decided to keep one for a feed as i have never eaten one before and it was really nice.

This photo was taken by a kind fisherman in another tinny next to me.

Good to see there are still some quality threadies in the river. If you were anchored, did it wrap around the anchor rope? I have had a couple of big gones do that and it makes it tough to get them up in good condition for a release.

Awesome threadie Stu, congrats. Were you out there on Sat morning too? Headed out to the measured mile beacon with my brother and as we passed the poo schute I realised there was someone resembling you (with another person in the boat) in a tinny just out from the poo schute.
