Looks like a Sleepy Cod to me.

@Luc53 I was thinking sleepy cod too, just wanted to clarify where it was caught before confirming, there is a few larger native gudgeons that look quite similar.

 

@Fishaman - the eyes are positioned on the side of the head, I don't think it could be a flathead as their eyes are all on top.  I was also assuming being caught in an opera house trap that it would be somewhere in fresh water.

Nice looking fish. Just a guess but it sure looks like a sleepy cod to me. All the fins and its eyes are in the right place anyhow.
