queensland Found a willing school

Had a cool windy morning out at NPD, trolled around for nearly an hour before finding a school. Managed over 50 bass   and 2 yellas from the school and some from the edges on spinnerbaits. Got a bit of a shock when I saw the weed spray boat heading up the dam it looked like a BBQ boat from a distance.On my first cast I hooked something that snapped my spinnerbait wire off from the head and skirt, must of been big, I  think a lungy or a massive eel.

Both Dino and Rayke fish this area regularly. They both use a boat. 

You need to purchase a licence to put your boat in from PRFMA http://prfma.com.au/info/boating-access-scheme/

It is electric only and you will have to take any petrol motors off before you can enter. 

If you want to fish from a yak there are a few places to access it and it can be good fishing. Don't forget you will need a SIPS permit to fish stocked impoundments. https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/activities/boating-fishing/rec-fishing/dams

The best bait is live shrimp that you can catch in traps. Dino does really well with lures as well but I will leave that sort of information on what type and how to others.

Both are OK, boats cost $110 a year for a permit, or the kayak area is free except for a sips permit.
