Storm were absolutely red hot and starved the Broncos of possession. By the last quarter I think they were so exhausted from chasing Harry Grant and Brandon Smith around the park that they opened up like a sardine can. Probably unfair to have those two in the same team at the same time. It looks like touch football most of the time. Then you ruin the big Nelson at Ezra and the deal is done. Bright spot for the Broncos was the good stuff done by Cobbo. He will be one of the greats.

Saw them lose to Cowboys, Tigers (I had the same pre-match thoughts as you @Old Scaley …. ) and the thrashing by the Storm. At least we saw one win though - dad was away for the Knights match so he must be their bad luck charm …. I have told him he’s not allowed to go on Thursday although I don’t think he has any interest anyway after last night …. .

Broncos made 360 tackles to 240 from the storm. 

While i agree Storm were very good... you cant win a game with that many mistakes...

Dragons 46  vs 26 Titans
with both teams having a 10 - 11 error rate and 52 missed tackles each, they were both lucky to stay in the match.
At 30 – 26 the Dragons were reduced to 12 players for the final 20 minutes, via a send off. They then put on 16 points to extinguish any hope a Titan’s fan had….

Knights 22  vs. 28 Raiders
turned into a good game, for viewers. Raiders’ fans dream, of a top 8 spot, are still alive with lots of hope and a lot more prayers….

I was quietly confident after the first 15min.

Then proceeded to make what in hindset was a foolish wager for a beer/shot for every 4 pointer scored.

Watching it live the storm were just so clinical in their structure. You miss it a bit on TV but you could just see them working / advancing up field and getting into their patterns of play clear as day and Broncos had no answer.

Even my missus who is a league novice was saying "they're going to score on the right/left here" and sure enough the precision.

Needless to say sore head and I snoozed right through my fishing alarm on Saturday and missed the dawn bit / high tide.

Oh dear. Those ratings are just given to satisfy the embryonic minds of the lesser amoebas. It keeps them happy while we highly evolved amoebas can get on with working out how to become multi-celled.

Broncos "resting" Cobbo says to me they don't back themselves to win against the Eels.

Well, I guess the positive for the Tigers will be pre-season 2023, with the reforming the 2005 trio band of Sheen’s, Marshall, and Farar…. and after that, we wait to see

NRL finals series 2022
Under the current finals system, the team that has finished in first has only won the premiership three times, the Sydney Roosters in 2013 and 2018, and the Melbourne Storm in 2017.

The current system sees the first week have top four sides face each other, and the second four (bottom half of the top eight) play each other. The winners in the top four clashes go straight to the third week of the finals, while the losers face the winner of the second four.

The losers in the matches between the second four sides are eliminated, while the winners face the losers from the top four.

Last year’s minor premiers were Penrith Panthers, who defeated South Sydney in the decider.
