Terry and I are launching our yaks somewhere around Breaky Creek at about 11pm tonight fishing lures in the hope of a Threadie or Jew, fishing till we have had enough might be all night.

very interesting - we were at this very spot 2 nights back and were discussing this - i'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to lure fishing at night due to complete lack of success in the past on everything except pike and trevally when they are busting up - good luck

Terry, if your yakking at night in winter, I'd seriously seriously consider a wetsuit. Although the Hobbie might be hard to peddle I suppose. But definately a 3/4 wetsuit if I was paddling.

I saw some socks in annaconda the other day, (must be polypropylene), guaranteed to stay dry when immersed. Might be the ticket for these night trips!

Not sure if it's best to say I got a 0 fish count, or 1...

I'll say.. it was a big fish. Too big in fact.

It was so big that in order to get all of it in, we'd have to be too far away and the flash couldn't light up the fish. Come any closer and you coulnd't see the fish properly..

I heard the best way to fish for threadies and jews in the river is to stick close to the banks and head up and down the river until you see Kev and Dan, then throw heavy sinkers at them until they get knocked out or run away and steal their fish.
