and found a pfluger echelon 6'6" 4-8kg rod in the chuck out bin for $40 bargain

Cant beleive I paid $13.00 for a prawn star :ohmy: (bit of a rip if you ask me,like BCF sending out a newsletter featureing a lure then bumping the price of that lure through the roof), talk about a sucker for marketing.

But after seeing Jeffs video I thought I might give them a go in the river, as long as I don't snagg it.

I got the 11 cm one in hope fish will notice it more in the murky water, not sure how the natural color will go.

Should have a look at the various amarts, most are still having sales on lures, I saw a prawnstar going for around $7 among other things, and 30% off the berkley gulps among others

i find big w a bad place for me there is always something reduced or on special.then i can't help my self .always lures or sp's.

i haven't bought a lure for a few weeks but i found a rmg scorpion last week .put some trebles on it and its all good.

excellent choice Brian. Safari's are one of the toughest reels to beat. only downside is the weight tho . hehe. love the titanium drag disk

thanks for the approval, yeap all 10kg of drag is a ripper. I pulled it apart today and I was amazed at the set up with the tripple carbon fiber washers and the 5 cones - I was happy when I got it back together.

killer around reefs for spangleds and red throats....

spray/rub some attractant on them and you can even float them out for a mack or something while you work another rod...

Without the braid the rec retail was marked $489, I got 15% off because I bought a rod and jigs so that's $415.65 gst inc.

I don't know if I got a good price or I got ripped off, I didn't bother shopping around.

brian, is this one of the old batch or one of the new batch from japan? did it come with a spare spool?

overseas the latest batch is about USD320, but those are made in china.

i just got in some big topwaters. Originally designed for Peacock bass in South America.

i reckon they will do okay here as well.

130mm and 49 grams with real loud rattles. Hooks are pretty sharp as well, hooked myself twice so far today :ohmy:

i just love the paint work on them

They will probably end up as ornaments on my desk. I got some 75mm ones as well. Will put them up later in another thread i am working on.
